Motivation is key

Due to my sister's blog's badassness, I'm feeling a bit motivated to do some posts. I need to update this more but it's hard enough updating a facebook profile let alone a blog. Nonetheless, I'm giving it another go.

Speaking of motivation, it looked as if last night the Lakers had all the motivation in the world and Ray Allen had no motivation to make a shot. I have never seen an athlete go off as bad as he did in game 2 only to follow that up with a HORRIFIC night from 3 only two days later. I mean this is Jesus Shuttlesworth, one of the purest shooters in the game and all through the 4th quarter EVERYONE was thinking well the next one has to hit. Well folks it didn't and I'm happy as hell about it.

From that, I want to take the time to address a very disturbing trend I have been noticing in my life. Look if you want to be a fan of someone (all the LeBron lovers, this one is for you) that is perfectly fine. However, when your guy gets knocked out of the playoffs it is not acceptable to jump on the bandwagon of another TEAM just to root against a player like Kobe. Be a Kobe hater all you want (#hatersgonnahate), but that doesn't mean you love the Celtics... You weren't rooting for them in the roughly 95 games before this series so why in the hell are you rooting for them now? GTFOH

In other news, the "leaders" of our economy are some of the most sensitive people EVER.

I'm Back

Whew it's been a long time since i've posted on here. I have good reason though. I started a new job before my last post and that has taken over my life since. I'm an Assistant Director of Development for Central Campus Priorities at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. It's been a fun ride so far and I can't wait to see what happens next. I handle fundraising on the west coast so I am really racking up the frequent flier miles. So far, I have been to Los Angeles (twice), Seattle/Tacoma, Phoenix, San Francisco, and I'm headed to San Diego next week.

One thing I love about my job is the interaction I get to have with some of UT's best and brightest alums. They are all out in the world doing well for themselves and I get to talk to them about how UT helped them make it to where they are. It's truly eye opening.

On the personal front, I have tried to get through some issues I have with trust to no avail. I have had a girlfriend and broke up with her within a month. I need to figure out my head before i let too many good catches pass me by.

Alright, I think that's enough.... until next time---

Give Thanks

Man have things changed since my last post. I was working an internship that had no guarantee of a future for not a lot of money. I was searching high and low for anything that had "full-Time" or "benefits" associated with it... Oh, how many things I am thankful for today!!

We talked about me being ALL VOL last post but this is ridiculous... I work for the Vols now baby!

Everything is great and I have to cut this post short but be on the lookout I'm gonna start posting a lot more...

Some of y'all may not know this but...

I AM ALL VOL... I love everything orange and everything the vocal, Bruce Pearl and Lane Kiffin, have done. I especially love what Kiffin is doing in his first 12 months on board, as highlighted here...

I'm going to try to do a better job of posting on here. Yes, I have said that before, but this time I mean it. I guess you'll believe it when you see it.

Ok this next topic might ruffle a few feathers, but who would I be if I really cared. Apparently Jessica Simpson is all upset because her dog died. Read about it here..

Now I understand we as people have sometimes unhealthy relationships with our pets. We treat them almost as equal to humans. Some people, I hear, have even invested in doggie strollers??? WTF? BUT GOOD LORD. I'm sorry if I don't feel totally horrible for Miss Daisy Dukes herself... Woman, you have done movies AND music.. Buy a new dog... Buy 300 new dogs... Your life is not and will not ever be THAT bad. Her friends say that she's at the lowest point of her life. GIVE ME A BREAK. No, I'm not so naive to think that celebrities don't have the same problems with relationships and life in general as every other joe blow out there. But i'm also not so naive to think that someone having money's life isn't easier than the rest. You have millions from your tenny bop music career. Then you stole every teenage (all ages for that matter) boys heart as Daisy Duke...

All I'm saying is your life is not down in the dumps. The recession is very real in the world of "normal" folks but for you, my dear, will never have to worry about it..

That is all...

I really need to get better at this blogging thing..

So it's been approximately 3 months since my last post and a lot has changed. I've since moved down to Florida to pursue a position with the PGA Tour. I must say, I do hate being in Gator country, but the beach and the sun always around definitely make up for it.

I've met a few cool people since I've moved down here. The other interns I work with have pretty much welcomed me with open arms and it's really cool to work with some amazing peers. Yes, I understand they are my competitors in the fierce full-time job market. However, this doesn't mean everything has to be hostile.

I'm working under one of the coolest bosses I've had. Not only because he's pretty young and he's great to be around, but he's a guy that's very forward thinking. Its one of those situations where I want to be around him just to soak in all of the knowledge or different ways to think about things that I can.

Hopefully everything in the next 3 months will go great and I'll be on my way to a new full-time position, but for now I guess only time will tell.

R.I.P. Teddy
